“This is not only an opportunity to learn, but to create relationships with like-minded event professionals,” said Jessica Levin (@JessicaLevin), President, Seven Degrees Communications and one of the organizers of Event Camp.
Levin continued, “The #1 reason to attend EventCamp is to be part of a community of event professionals that are embracing technology and experimenting with doing things differently”.
National Conference – and We’re There
We’re very excited that Event Camp chose Chicago (our home base) as the site of its National Conference. We’ve signed on as a sponsor of the event and will be providing a virtual component, for those of you unable to join us in Chicago.
On February 11-13th, EventCamp National will take place at Catalyst Ranch in Chicago, IL. This bar-camp style event is designed for event professionals who are interested in learning how they can integrate technology and new media into their meetings, conferences and special events. The event is designed for those individuals who are already familiar with social media and for those that are still feeling their way through new communication channels.
The conference will feature keynote speakers: Chris Brogan, Liz Strauss, Sarah Evans and Hank Wasiak. In addition, several breakout sessions have been crowd sourced by the event community, making this a truly collaborative event. For those attendees that enjoyed what they heard during the keynote presentation, special “continue the conversation” sessions have been planned to give you the opportunity to expand upon ideas that you just heard.
The cost to attend is $149 which covers a welcome reception on Friday, February 11th and educational sessions on the 12th and a half day on the 13th. Register at http://ecnc2011.eventbrite.com/ or visit www.eventcamp.org for more information.
If you are unable to attend in-person, but would like to participate, the event will be live-streamed and archived thanks to support from our sponsors Sonic Foundry, INXPO and Core Staging. Check in at www.eventcamp.org to get the link to the webcast. The hash tag for the event is #ECNC.
EventCamp was founded by Christina Coster with support from, Jeff Hurt, Jessica Levin, Michael McCurry and Mike McAllen.
