On February 22nd and 23rd, InXpo will be presenting and exhibiting at Virtual Edge 2010 – the in-person event is in Santa Clara, CA and InXpo will be hosting a virtual component, InXpoLive@VirtualEdge.  For those of you attending in person, we’ll be providing lunch on both days.

Virtual Edge Summit has an action-packed session schedule featuring the best and the brightest from the virtual events and virtual business community.  You’ll hear from industry visionaries (about where the industry is heading), hands-on practitioners (about how they create amazing virtual experiences) and expert-level consultants (who provide instruction on how you can make virtual work for you).

Here are the Top 5 sessions that I don’t want to miss.

Day 1 (February 22) Sessions

Keynote: Secrets of Virtual Event & Meeting Success Revealed!
Featuring: Cisco, Disney, Intel, UBM, Microsoft, SAP

What interests me: Hearing from top companies on what’s worked for them – and, what “gotchas” they came across and how they addressed them.  This panel is particularly interesting because of the nice mix of company types (i.e. a wide range of industries).  It will be interesting to see what’s common in virtual events (across industries) and what’s unique within particular industries.

Break Out: Proven Social Media Strategies for Virtual Events & Communities

What interests me: Hearing about what social media strategies have worked for folks.  Then, the real fun will be around the “next wave” of social technologies.  I’m nearly certain Foursquare and Gowalla will receive a mention or two.  Lastly, getting to meet the widely known @JeffHurt in person will be a treat.

Case Study: The Global Hybrid Event Experience

What interests me: We’ve had the privilege of working with Dannette, Kathy and their teams – I’d like to hear about their learnings and advice around creating a great hybrid event experience.  After all, we believe that 2010 is The Year of the Hybrid Event.

Day 2 (February 23) Sessions

SPECIAL WORKSHOP: How to Strategize, Plan, and Execute a Virtual Event

A 2-part workshop at the following times:

8:00-8:45AM PT (Part I)
9:00-9:45AM PT (Part II)

What interests me: In my mind, execution is the “easy part”, once you’ve nailed the strategy and planning.  I’m looking forward to details from Kelly and Helaine on how to best stage the entire event lifecycle.  For planners about  to embark on their very first virtual event, creating a personalized blueprint (within this workshop) will be quite useful.

Break Out: It Takes More Than a Spreadsheet to Measure Virtual Meeting Effectiveness & ROI

What interests me: We talk a lot about “ROI” for virtual events – however, I don’t think we talk enough about how to define “ROI”.  Part of the definition is also how to measure it.  I’d like to hear about how industry experts go about defining and measuring ROI – along with the tools needed to be successful.

We’re looking forward to meeting you at Virtual Edge – either in person or virtually.
